Maybeline: The Blushed Nudes

I was so excited about this when I first saw it because of how much I love the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay. I am just more attracted to cool toned, mauve shades than any other colors!

For a drugstore palette, this really isn't too bad. I haven't had the best of luck with drugstore palettes but this one is a contender to be one of the good ones!

Overall it isn't as pigmented as more higher end palettes have been but you can get a really nice look with very little effort.

At first glance this palette comes off very cool toned and taupe/gray. Which isn't a bad thing but I was expecting a lot more blushed tones than the ones that are offered. On the other hand, I do think that the taupe/gray colors compliment the mauve tones that are in it very nicely!

This palette, as well as the original nudes palette is separated into duos, trios, and quads. Unfortunately, I don't think this works out very well this way except the last four on the right hand side. The rest create odd groups in my opinion.

The top row is really light. The first color barely shoes up on my skin tone, and is matte.
The second shadow is a matte pale pink, a little chalky.
The third color is really chalky, shimmer champagne.
The fourth is a matte cool toned pink, similar to Nooner form Urban Decay.
The fifth is one of my favorites. it is a shimmer, very pigmented, copper/pink.
The sixth steels the show. It is very unique shimmer that I would describe as Cranberry. It's so pretty!

The bottom row is nice, smolders, and smokey. I don't really think the two rows go together at all!
The first shadow is a matte pale gray. It is very pigmented and makes a wonderful highlight color for the brow bone.
The second is a silver gray shimmer.
The third is so pretty! It is gray but has a nice plum undertone. It is one of those colors that I think looks great on any eye color!
The fourth is a standard gray shimmer.
The fifth swatches nothing like you would think it would. It looks brown in the pan but swatches a dark plum purple.
The sixth is the most disappointing... In the pan it looks like a dark brown with gold flecks of glitter. and it swatches a matte dark cool toned brown. BUT all the glitter transfers to the finger and the brush, but somehow I can't get any to show up on my lid unless I wet the brush first.

Overall, I think that this palette was a good idea and was definitely needed in the drugstore after so many cool toned mauve palettes have come out on the market for high and and luxury brands. I don't think the whole palette goes together. I think the bottom row could've been a nice smokey palette all on it's own but the top row wouldn't be able to be a solo palette. But yes, much needed for the drugstore!
